At the Special Council Meeting on 15 March 2021, Council approved the Recreation and Aquatic Facility Business Plan and authorised the CEO to sign the $20 million Federal Government grant funding for the project.

Proposal to enter into a major land transaction

Recreation and Aquatic Facility

In accordance with section 3.59 of the Local Government Act 1995, the City of South Perth sought public submissions on the proposal to enter into a major land transaction through the construction and then operation of the Recreation and Aquatic Facility in Como, Western Australia.

Description: A proposed Recreation and Aquatic Facility (RAF) Como, WA, within the Collier Park Golf Course.

Address: Hayman Rd, Como, WA 6152

Developer/Operator: City of South Perth/To be determined via a Request For Tender at a future stage.

Financial Implications: As described in the Recreation and Aquatic Facility (RAF) Business Plan. In summary, the development is expected to cost up to $80 million, depending on securing those monies and then detailed design. The Annual Operating benefit to the City of South Perth has been considered through the development of an Operating Feasibility Report and described in the Business Plan that was adopted for the purpose of public notice by the Council on 24 November 2020.
