The City has prepared a draft concept design for Phase Two of the Manning Hub Masterplan, a key aspect of which is improved pedestrian access and activation of the area.

Phase Two will provide a link from Welwyn Avenue to the Manning Community Facility and James Miller Oval. The draft concept design comprises:

  • Partial demolition of the former Deli shop to create a laneway through to the Manning Community Facility, the Library and James Miller Oval, including seating, planting along the inside walls and small trees in pots.
  • Upgrades to the streetscaping in and around Welwyn Avenue car park, including paving upgrade, new bollards, planting outside shop fronts, new bike racks, relocation of the ACROD parking bay and planting to the mulched areas adjacent to the car park.

The City is keen to hear your thoughts and ideas on the draft concept design. View the three sets of images below, which are also displayed in the window of the former Deli as follows:

Most people that use the bay go into the post office/chemist and or the IGA store. Why are you making them walk further ? Why not add a bay at the other end ? Really not thought through this one. on Facebook Share Looking at the plans and noticed that the disabled parking will be re-located to the centre of the parking area. WHY ??? Hi there. Thank you for your question. The bay is being relocated so that people using it can have closer access to all of the shops on the strip and will also have direct access through the laneway that will be installed where the former Deli is. The laneway will lead through to the Manning Community Facility, the Library and James Miller Oval making the area more accessible to all.
