The Scheme Amendment No.1 - Short-Term Rental Accommodation was:

  • approved by the Minister and Western Australian Planning Commission
  • gazetted - Government Gazette dated 18 July 2025

At the Ordinary Council Meeting (External link) on Tuesday 22 October, Council resolved to advertise Scheme Amendment No. 1 to Local Planning Scheme No. 7 (LPS 7) - Short-Term Rental Accommodation.

The purpose of the draft Scheme Amendment is to:

  • update LPS 7 text to introduce new and revised land use classes and general definitions to facilitate State Government reforms for short-term rental accommodation.

The City is now seeking feedback on this draft Scheme Amendment.
