Draft Local Planning Policy 7.2 - Significant Views

At the Ordinary Council Meeting held on Tuesday 24 June 2025, Council resolved to advertise draft Local Planning Policy 7.2 Significant Views.

At its meeting held 25 March 2025, Council requested the Chief Executive Officer prepare a Local Planning Policy to consider several specific matters pertaining to significant views. In response, the City prepared draft Local Planning Policy 7.2 - Significant Views (LPP7.2).

Here’s a summary of the matters Council requested be addressed in draft LPP7.2:

• A definition of what constitutes ‘views of significance’.
• Include provisions that address whether access to views are maintained, and if not, whether that’s appropriate and reasonable in the context of the proposal.
• Include a list of elements to be considered when assessing ‘views of significance’.
• Include criteria for consultation on proposals that may affect ‘views of significance’.
