Share HI One aspect that I am not sure is covered is the number of Art Deco dwellings and facades. I think these are unique in Perth and are worth raising the profile of. I do not think at this stage there needs to be specific house heritage listings, but certainly there needs to be a much raised community awareness of these features to encourage landowners to retain the front facades. That in particular is the verandah, character and headlight windows. Every house with headlights has a different pattern; something worth retaining. This is particularly through the South Terrace, Kensington, Hobbs and Monash Avenues near Canning Highway. Maybe there could be a photo of the windows or facades as a record and to letter drop the owners to alert them to the heritage. on Facebook Share HI One aspect that I am not sure is covered is the number of Art Deco dwellings and facades. Lindsay asked 9 months agoHi there. Thanks for your question. The City has advertised the LHS Review through various communication channels and has also been in contact with local heritage groups to spread awareness of the project (including the South Perth Historical Society and Art Deco Society). The City documents heritage places through the Local Heritage Survey (LHS) and is currently accepting new nominations for the LHS or updates to existing LHS place records. If you would like to nominate a new place for the LHS – please complete a place nomination form. If you have any further questions or comments please don't hesitate to contact us.
