Local Heritage Survey Review
Help us celebrate our local heritage in the City of South Perth
The City of South Perth sought feedback on proposed changes to the Local Heritage Survey (LHS) including new places, amendments to existing place records and updates to the Thematic History. Feedback closed on Tuesday 18 February 2025.
The LHS is a requirement of the Heritage Act 2018 (external link). Previously known as the Municipal Heritage Inventory (MHI) or Local Heritage Inventory (LHI), it recognises and records places with cultural heritage significance, allowing us to better understand the places which contribute to the history of the City of South Perth.
In February 2024 the City invited new place nominations and updates to existing place records. All nominations and requests were reviewed and the following changes to the LHS are proposed:
- Inclusion of 15 new places on the LHS
- Amendments to the category of significance for 3 places
- Updates to 5 existing place records
- Updates to the Thematic History.
