The Youth Plan was endorsed by Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 22 March 2022. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the development of the City's first Youth Plan.

Background: The Youth Plan is about making sure young people feel connected with their community and ensuring we offer the kind of events, services and programs they want to see. And with one in five residents aged between 10-25, it’s important that the youth perspective is part of the City’s vision and planning.

The draft Youth Plan was created with the help of local young people, parents and caregivers in partnership with the South Perth Youth Network (SPYN) and Youth Advisory Council of Western Australia (YACWA). With their input, we created four key priorities to work on with young people over the next five years:

  • Further develop our youth programs and events
  • Improve our facilities and places for young people
  • Improve our communications and engagement with young people
  • Provide opportunities for young people to develop their capacity and skills.

We asked: The four priority areas and actions are laid out in the feedback form so that you can take a look at them as you complete it. Have we got it right? Tell us your thoughts.
