Where do the policies apply?

The draft Building Height Local Planning Policy (LPP) (PDF, 119 KB) applies to all single and grouped dwelling developments across the City.

The draft Salter Point Escarpment Local Planning Policy (LPP) (PDF, 652 KB) applies to all developments within the Salter Point Escarpment area that is subject to specific building height requirements within draft LPS 7.

Why have these policies been prepared?

The Salter Point Escarpment LPP has been prepared to maintain the way building height, building height projections and significant obstruction of views are currently assessed under TPS 6 for this specific area.

Due to changes in State Government Legislation (Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015), draft LPS 7 cannot carry over the current method of measuring height from TPS 6. The draft Building Height LPP has been prepared to provide for building height as currently permitted under TPS 6 in suitable contexts.

Why are the policies being advertised?

These two policies are an important part of the City’s planning framework. By advertising them concurrently with draft LPS 7, the community can see how the draft scheme requirements and policies will work together to achieve the desired planning outcomes.

Are any other policies being advertised?

No, there are no other policies being advertised with draft LPS 7. The City is currently developing the local planning framework to operate under LPS 7. The new suite of local planning policies will be advertised and endorsed to coincide with the final approval of LPS 7.

How can I ask questions about the policies?
