Share Why are you shrinking your opening times? The library is paid for by rate payers and we as rate payers already find it difficult to attend because of our work and schools hours. I believe the library should be remain open out of work hours Mon to Sat every week so we all have a chance for equal access. Please consider making this change. Andrea asked 7 months agoHi there,
Thank you for sharing your concerns about the recent adjustment to our library opening hours. We understand that any change can impact our community members who rely on our services outside of standard work and school hours. The decision to amend the library hours was informed by the latest Library Customer Survey and an internal review of usage patterns across our branches. We found that the new hours align better with the times when our services are most frequently utilised, allowing us to allocate resources more efficiently and effectively. We recognise that this does not accommodate every individual's schedule, and to ensure that all community members can still access our resources, we offer extensive online services that are available 24/7 on the City’s website (external link). These include e-books, audiobooks, magazines and newspapers, which can be accessed from the comfort of your home. Additionally, our afterhours chutes are available at both libraries for returning borrowed items at any time. We are committed to revisiting our opening hours as community needs evolve, and plan to review these changes frequently, taking into consideration both community feedback and usage trends. Once again, thank you for your feedback and for helping us serve the community better.
Thank you for your contribution!
