Thanks to everyone who has been involved in the project. Installation of the new play space will commence on Tuesday 5 March 2024 and is expected to be open to the public in three to five weeks.

The existing playground at Bill Grayden Reserve is due for replacement, as set out in the City’s Play Space Plan 2022 (PDF, 6.87 MB) and we want you to get involved in the design of the new play space.

This project will have two stages of engagement with our community. In the first stage of engagement held late last year, we wanted to find out more about who is using the existing playground, how you would like to use the new play space, and the kinds of features and play elements you’d like to see there. During this period, we received feedback from almost 100 people.

Come along to the design workshop

For stage two of the stakeholder engagement, we’ve put together the beginnings of a design for the new play space based on the feedback received, the City’s Play Space Plan, industry guidelines, and other considerations such as budget.

Come along to the family-friendly workshop where you can get involved in some interactive activities to help further develop the design, which makes the most of the space and natural features on site.

  • When: Tuesday 23 May 2023, 4.30-6pm
  • Where: Bill Grayden Pavilion, Bill Grayden Reserve (by the playground)

Workshop registrations have now closed.
