Local Planning Strategy approved

In July 2020, the City of South Perth Council adopted the City’s Local Planning Strategy, the first step to establishing a plan to accommodate our growing City.

Previously the Council had asked for public comments on the Strategy, receiving 282 detailed responses. The feedback from the community resulted in Council making a number of changes to the Strategy before it was submitted to the WA Planning Commission (WAPC).

The Strategy was sent to the WAPC for final approval, which was granted in February 2021.

The Strategy will guide planning decision making over the next 10 to 15 years and provide the City with a high level strategic framework as it moves towards drafting of Local Planning Scheme 7.

The Local Planning Strategy document has now been updated, in line with the modifications required by the WAPC and is available for download via the City's website.
