At the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 26 May 2026, Council endorsed the City’s new draft Public Health Plan 2026-2031 (the Plan) for community feedback.

The new draft Plan aligns with the State Public Health Plan and supports the City’s goal of creating healthy, active, and connected communities. It was shaped by community feedback and reflects the needs of people living across all suburbs. The Plan will guide the City’s work from 2026 to 2031.

We want to hear about which proposed actions in the draft Plan are the highest priority for you and your household. In particular, we are asking people to rank the objectives of the ‘Prevent’ pillar, which aims to reduce the impact of chronic disease, communicable disease and injury, in relation to:

  • Alcohol
  • Dementia
  • Falls
  • Healthy nutrition
  • Mental health
  • Physical health
  • Tobacco/vapes/illicit drug use
