Delay in final adoption of draft modified P301

Public advertising on draft modified P301 - Advertising of Planning Proposals closed on 31 July 2020. Thank you to all those who provided their feedback.

The proposed timeline for this project indicated that the policy would be presented to Council for final adoption in September or October 2020 following review of the feedback received. However, in late August 2020 the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) released draft modifications to the Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations 2015 (Regulations) for public comment. A number of these draft modifications have a direct impact on the advertising of planning proposals.

Therefore the City made the decision to delay presenting the draft modified P301 to Council for final adoption until after the amendments to the Regulations are finalised. This is expected to happen later this year. The existing Local Planning Policy P301 Community Engagement in Planning Proposal will remain in place and continue to apply until such time that any modified version is adopted by Council.
