Challenger Reserve Masterplan Concept Design
The City of South Perth is planning enhancements at Challenger Reserve in Manning. At the Ordinary Council Meeting in May 2025, Council resolved to initiate stakeholder consultation regarding an updated Challenger Reserve Masterplan / Concept Design. Please refer to the Council Minutes (External link) for further details.
A Masterplan was formulated in 2020 following extensive community engagement (Stage 1). This has now been refined to:
- integrate feedback received during previous community consultation
- include input from recent engagement with key stakeholder groups and existing users
- more effectively address both current and future user needs
The City is now seeking your feedback for Stage 2 of the Challenger Reserve Masterplan / Concept Design, which encompasses planning for:
- A multi-purpose building designed to support sporting clubs, community organisations, and bridge club activities
- Enhancement of existing tennis facilities
- Additional car parking areas
Improvements highlighted in the original Masterplan – such as new play spaces, a fenced dog exercise area, and an agility course – are proposed to be retained in the Masterplan / Concept Design, and delivered subject to future funding being made available.
